AFL, a global manufacturer of fiber optic cable and connectivity solutions, today announced that its Fujikura 100S Core Alignment Splicer has been named a Platinum Honoree in the 2026 ISE Network Innovators’ Awards. The 100S earned the recognition for features that cut splice preparation time and help technicians build skill on the job, including a dual-fiber system that loads two fibers at once and Splice Coach, which delivers real-time guidance during the splice.

Beyond the splice, the 100S adds capabilities aimed at how technicians manage equipment across a job. Built-in GPS tracking and location-based locking give visibility into where units are and control over where they can operate, while Bluetooth connectivity supports data transfer and traceability in the field.

“This recognition reflects AFL’s focus on developing solutions that address the real challenges facing broadband networks and the technicians building them,” said Al Swanson, AFL’s Vice President of Broadband. “The 100S combines innovation with practical field capabilities that help crews work more efficiently, build confidence and deliver the reliable fiber infrastructure our customers depend on.”

ISE Magazine Editor, Hayden Beeson, expressed his congratulations, stating, “On behalf of the ISE Network Innovators’ Awards, I would like to congratulate AFL on achieving a well-deserved level honoree status. This competitive program enables ISE Magazine to showcase and applaud the most innovative products, projects, technologies, and programs that significantly impact the industry.”

This recognition highlights AFL’s commitment to delivering innovative fiber optic solutions that help technicians work more efficiently while maintaining the high standards of performance and reliability customers expect. AFL continues to invest in technologies that simplify fiber deployment and support the evolving needs of broadband and telecommunications networks worldwide.
