SHANGHAI, China – August 29, 2026 – Shanghai Matech Industry Ltd. has developed a patented assembled fan blade solution to overcome key manufacturing challenges in large industrial fan blade production. The Utility Model Patent, officially authorized on October 28, 2025, introduces a three-section assembly design that helps reduce processing complexity and improve structural performance.
Large industrial fans are used in factories, warehouses and other facilities where high airflow is required at relatively low rotational speeds. Manufacturing large blades can present challenges due to their size, complex processing requirements, and the need for specialized large-scale forming equipment.
Shanghai Matech’s assembled structure divides the blade into front, middle and rear sections. Each section is manufactured separately before being assembled and reinforced, providing an alternative approach to producing a single large-size blade structure.

Three-section design simplifies processing
The utility model consists of three primary sections: a front blade section, a middle blade section and a rear blade section. Each section has a specific cross-sectional configuration designed to support assembly and structural reinforcement.
The front section uses an A-shaped cross-section with integrated connecting hooks on both sides and internal reinforcing ribs for enhanced structural stability. The middle section features an H-shaped cross-section with engaging slots and hooks that connect it to the adjacent sections. It also incorporates multiple internal reinforcing ribs connecting the curved side plates.
The rear section uses another A-shaped cross-section with engaging slots along both sides. A tail plate provides a smooth transition at the rear of the blade and is curved toward one side.
The sections are first connected through precision-designed hooks and slots. The assembled joints are then reinforced using argon arc welding, creating a continuous structure after assembly.
Reducing reliance on large extrusion equipment
One of the key considerations behind the design is to improve the manufacturability of large aluminum alloy fan blades. Producing a large blade as a single extruded component can require high-capacity extrusion equipment and may increase the risk of deformation during manufacturing.
By dividing the blade into three sections, each component can be extruded separately. This approach reduces dependence on extremely large extrusion presses, including equipment rated at 5,000 tons or above, according to Shanghai Matech’s technical evaluation.
Sectional processing also allows individual components to be manufactured and inspected before final assembly. Shanghai Matech states that the approach can improve processing precision and production yield while reducing overall manufacturing costs.
Welding reinforces assembled structure
After the three sections are fitted together, the connecting areas are reinforced through argon arc welding. The welding process reinforces the assembled joints and improves the overall structural reliability and durability of the finished blade.
The production sequence includes aluminum alloy extrusion of the individual sections, mechanical engagement through hooks and slots, argon arc welding, surface treatment and quality inspection. Finished components are then prepared for packaging and shipment.
This manufacturing sequence separates the production of individual blade sections from final assembly, allowing the different stages to be handled in a controlled manner.
