2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services

BEIJING, Sept. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Culture and Tourism Services Section of the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) will be held from September 9 to 13 in Halls 7 and 9 of Shougang Park in Beijing.

At the press conference held on September 2, the organisers disclosed the preparation progress and core innovative achievements of the Section. Under the theme “Cultural-Tourism Integration with Digital and Intelligent Empowerment,” this year’s Section brings together 413 exhibitors, including 49 foreign-funded institutions and 84 Fortune Global 500 and industry-leading enterprises. It will feature 6 global debuts and 19 China premieres, covering the entire industry chain – from traditional cultural heritage, museum innovation, and digital tourism to film, television, and audio-visual content, as well as global cultural expansion. The Section will showcase the achievements of Beijing’s cultural industry development and contribute to the high-quality growth of cultural services trade.

Digital Intelligence Renews Museum Experiences and Immersive Consumer Engagement

Under the theme “Technology Revitalises Museums, Civilisations Connect the World,” the Museum and Cultural Creativity Exhibition Zone adopts a modular dual-zone “flexible space” design. This year’s Section will deeply integrate major launch events with cutting-edge digital interactive content, presenting the forefront of Beijing’s museum innovations.

In terms of technological applications, the Section will for the first time feature a “precision microscopic image identity registration + full-process blockchain certification” system for the authentication and trading of cultural relics and artworks. The scene of antique trading from Beijing’s Liulichang Culture Street will be recreated on site, with an AI-powered embodied intelligence robot “shopkeeper” providing interactive explanations and guided tours, demonstrating how digital technology is transforming the cultural relic trading model.

In the area of cross-cultural exchange and new forms of consumption, the zone will draw on the core IP of the Capital Museum’s “Ancient Civilisations of Maya and the Andes” exhibition to create an immersive experience area. Visitors will not only be able to choose from hundreds of cultural and creative products at the “Beijing Museum” new product launch season, but also engage with totem light installations, AI-powered tour guides, VR explorations of ancient ruins, and MR jungle interactive experiences. Using AIGC technology, visitors can generate personalised ancient civilisation souvenir decorations on site, experiencing the charm of multicultural integration through “instant creation, on-the-spot production.”

Targeting Global Expansion of Culture to Activate New Momentum in Services

The Tourism Exhibition, under the theme “Tourism Lights Up a Better Life,” features four thematic units: new technology scenarios, new global expansion tracks, new integrated consumption, and new leisure spaces. The indoor exhibition area will feature the “Beijing Cultural Tourism Cube,” showcasing the digital achievements of leading companies in the cultural tourism sector.

Notably, to facilitate domestic and international cultural tourism matchmaking, a special Cultural Tourism Global Expansion Service Zone will be established for the first time this year, promoting global expansion projects including the China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd.’s “Yaji Chuancai,” China Tourism Group’s “Adora Magic City” cruise ship, and the “Starlight Lancang-Mekong” tourist train, alongside supporting measures to facilitate inbound tourism. A number of “Beijing Gift” cultural and creative products will also make their debut at the event.

AI Empowers Audio-Visual Content, Expanding New Avenues for Cultural Tourism Integration

To further enhance visitors’ engagement, the “Beijing Great Audio-Visual” Zone is inspired by the work Tree of Life  and features an exhibition layout structured around “one main thread, two core technological achievements, three major new product categories, and four interactive experiences.” A new-generation AI agent product, focused on the “AI + audio-visual + cultural tourism” integration, will make its global debut on site. In addition, the zone breaks away from traditional exhibition models by introducing multi-dimensional interactive experiences, including a VR time-travel experience of Forty Scenes of the Yuanmingyuan , an XR immersive red-themed experience of Banners Over the Jinggang Mountains , an AI-powered Peking Opera photo booth, and a pocket cinema, vividly showcasing the new experiences brought by the deep integration of audio-visual technology and cultural tourism.

Leveraging the CIFTIS launch platform, this year’s Culture and Tourism Services Section will also unveil a number of innovations, including holographic digital window displays and spatiotemporal digital sand tables. Through the “Colorful World” brand initiative, the Section will highlight the global expansion achievements of the “New Three” cultural exports – micro-dramas, Chinese animation, and online games.

The Culture and Tourism Services Section of CIFTIS will continue to promote trade through exhibitions and lead the way with innovation, continuously cultivating new quality productive forces in the cultural sector, and contributing Beijing’s strength to the high-quality development of cultural services trade and the enhancement of the influence of Chinese civilisation.
