Celebrate Logan’s grand opening on Thursday, September 24 with Free Ice Cream for a Year and exciting giveaways

LOGAN, UT, UNITED STATES, September 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Handel’s Ice Cream, the beloved brand serving ice cream since 1945, is officially expanding its footprint in Utah. The newest location in Logan is situated in historic downtown at the Laub Plaza (45 N Main Street Suite 110). The shop will celebrate its official Grand Opening on Thursday, September 24th, starting at 11:00 a.m. The festivities will treat the first 100 guests in line to Free Ice Cream for a Year, and the grand opening weekend will continue on Saturday the 26th with face painting from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and a photobooth from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The new location is owned and operated by Savannah and Zak Niemann. The couple, who grew up in Mendon, Utah, has always considered Cache Valley home. Married for 12 years with three children, they built successful careers as real estate agents. Zak specializes in new construction with a business degree from Utah State University’s Huntsman School of Business, and both share a natural talent for connecting with people. After being introduced to Handel’s by Savannah’s brother, they fell in love with the brand’s quality and unique flavors. Combining Savannah’s lifelong dream of owning an ice cream shop with Zak’s business mindset, they jumped at the chance to bring the treat to Logan.

“We have heard it said before that it’s ‘life-changing’ ice cream, and we agree,” said Zak Niemann, co-owner of Handel’s Logan. “We don’t just want to open an ice cream shop. We want Handel’s to feel like it belongs here and become a place where families, friends, and neighbors can gather, celebrate, and make memories.”

Community involvement remains a core priority for the team. Both are members of the Cache Association of Realtors, with Savannah serving on the school community council at North Park Elementary and Zak participating in Downtown Alliance meetings.

“Our goal isn’t simply to open an ice cream shop,” said Savannah Niemann, co-owner of Handel’s Logan. “We want people to know that Handel’s prioritizes hospitality and a positive experience every time you visit. We wanted to contribute to our community in the sweetest way.”

The new 1,750-square-foot shop will be open Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. In addition to the grand opening giveaways, the scoop shop will offer 48 rotating flavors, catering services, and convenient pickup and delivery.
